Where is Exploratoriet located?

Exploratoriet – Skellefteå Science Center is located in the Norandå area. The old sports hall from the 40s is refurbished in to a new Science Center with two floors, with an exhibitions hall of 800 square meters. See our opening hours.
During the school’s autumn- and spring term educational school programs are ongoing tuesday – fridays for prebooked school classes years preschool to year 9.

With bus

The closes stop with Skellefteå buss is Kanalgatan, by Baldergymnasiet. With Länstrafikens buses the closest stop is at Skellefteå Resecentrum. From there you can take a 10 minute walk to Exploratoriet

Car Parking

The Nordanå area is a car free zone. Exploratoriet has no parking spaces. Visitors can park at Nordanås car park, located by the museum. Neither buses, cars nor taxis are permitted to drive up to Exploratoriets main entrance. With exception for people with disabilities. Buses can drop off, and pick people up at Ernst Westerlunds allé.

Café

We have lighter food items, like hotdogs, pancakes and sandwiches.
Pasteries, icecream and nutrientbars. We have some options free of gluten and dairy.
Carbonated beverages, coffee and tea.

Bring your own food

We have a dining area for people with their own food. If you’re booking a group visit, be sure to tell us what your plans are for food and snacks.

Where to find us

Practical information

The entirety of Exploratoriet is accessible for wheelchair users.
There is always an exhibition host on hand to help and answer questions.
It may be a good idea to bring a pair of indoor shoes for the younger visitors

Lift/Elevator

Between the entrance level and the reception at Exploratoriet there is a passenger lift. For special deliveries and larger transports, there is a goods elevator at the back of the house

Toilet

Adjacent to the coatroom and reception there are toilets and a wheelchair accessible toilet. There is also a changing table.

Personal Assistant

accompanying personal assistants do not pay an entrance fee.

Places to sit

In several places in the exhibition hall on the 3rd floor there are seats, including a platform with about fifty seats, where you can rest between experiments.
We welcome adults and children together, Exploratoriet is a place of curiousity for all ages.
Children who want to come and be alone at Exploratoriet without adult company, need to be 11 years of age or older.
